Smoke Alarms

South Lane County Fire and Rescue wants YOU to sign up for our free Smoke Alarm Program.  Thanks to a cooperation effort with the Oregon State Fire Marshal's Office and South Lane Fire we are able to provide the installation of smoke alarms  to the citizens of the fire district for free.

Smoke alarms that are properly installed and maintained play a vital role in reducing fire deaths and injuries. Having a working smoke alarm reduces the chance of dying in a reported fire by half.
Almost two-thirds of home fire deaths in 2005-2009 resulted from fires in homes with no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms.

We will install smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside each separate sleeping area and on every level of the home, including the basement.

To date we have installed over 250 smoke alarms in Cottage Grove, Creswell and the surrounding areas.  Call today to schedule a date and time to have a certified smoke alarm technician install the alarms for you.  On average it takes 15 minutes to install the alarms.  All of our smoke alarms are powered by a lithium ion battery that will last you ten years.

Call our headquarters at (541) 942-4493 to sign up.
