PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Public Service Announcement For Immediate Release

September 10, 2020

The weather outlook seems to be improving as far as winds and temps go. The red flag warning lasts through 8pm tonight but the wind direction is changing to westerly which will help hold back the spread of the Archie Creek Fire toward Cottage Grove Lake. The fire is approximately 97,000 acres and we are actively monitoring this fire as it develops. At this time the District is not engaged with this fire and a Type 1 Incident Management Team assumed command yesterday.

Smoke will continue to be a factor and those with respiratory issues and conditions should try to remain in doors.

We will update this notice as new information becomes available.
