- Board Meetings take place on the 2nd thursday of each month. Meetings are held at Station 1 in Cottage Grove as well as the Creswell Community Center every 3rd month.
Board President Mike Caven - Position #2 Expires 6/30/15
Mike Caven has served on the SLCF&R Board since 2011 and was elected Board President in 2013. Mr. Caven has worked in the fire service for 14 years in which he served 5 years as a career firefighter for SLCF&R. Currently Mike Caven works as an Engineer/Paramedic with the City of Eugene Fire Department Training Division. Asked to join the SLCF&R board due to his history and knowledge of South Lane County Fire, Mr. Caven agreed to serve and assist the community in this role.
Secretary / Treasurer Wayne Kleckner - Position #4 Expires 6/30/15

Wayne Kleckner has served on the South Lane County Fire & Rescue Board since 2009
and served as board president from 2011 to 2013. Wayne Kleckner received a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from Colorado State University in 1975. He retired from the US Forest Service where he worked 30 plus years as a timber management assistant and incident management team member. Kleckner has been involved as a part of numerous incident management teams for significant events including the Columbia Space Shuttle Recovery, The World Trade Center Disaster and Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. He received numerous awards both in his career and within the community, including the Cottage Grove Community Service Award in 1992.

Jerry Settelmeyer - Position #1 Expires 6/30/17
Jerry Settelmeyer has served on the SLCF&R Board since 2005. Mr. Settelmeyer has lived in South Lane County for over 50 years. Prior to his service on the fire board, Mr. Settelmeyer was a volunteer with the Cottage Grove Fire Dept for 12 years. Jerry Settelmeyer's favorite thing about the South Lane County community is that when the community recognize a need for change, they always rise to the occasion.
