South Lane County Fire & Rescue (SLCF&R) proudly serves both residents and visitors in Creswell, Cottage Grove and rural South Lane County. SLCF&R provides fire protection, rescue, emergency medical services, fire prevention and code enforcement services, per ORS Chapter 478. SLCF&R is located just south of the Eugene / Springfield area of western Oregon, along the I-5 corridor. The areas previously served by the Cottage Grove Fire Department, the Creswell Rural Fire Department, and the South Lane Rural Fire Department, were merged into the South Lane County Fire and Rescue district in 2003.
House Fire on Bryson Sears Road

South Lane County Fire and Rescue responded to a house fire at 78642 Bryson-Sears Rd, Cottage Grove. The Fire District responded with 5 pieces of fire apparatus and 13 firefighters. Upon arrival the rear of the home was involved with fire and there was heavy smoke exiting the home. The fire district was able to control the fire after 20 minutes of battling the blaze. The fire is being investigated by the Fire District Fire Marshal to determine the cause. A majority of the home and its contents were lost in the fire. The single occupant of the home was not at home at the time of the fire. South Lane County Fire and Rescue provides Fire and EMS protection to the communities of Cottage Grove, Creswell and 132 square miles of unincorporated Southern Lane County.
