South Lane County Fire & Rescue (SLCF&R) proudly serves both residents and visitors in Creswell, Cottage Grove and rural South Lane County. SLCF&R provides fire protection, rescue, emergency medical services, fire prevention and code enforcement services, per ORS Chapter 478. SLCF&R is located just south of the Eugene / Springfield area of western Oregon, along the I-5 corridor. The areas previously served by the Cottage Grove Fire Department, the Creswell Rural Fire Department, and the South Lane Rural Fire Department, were merged into the South Lane County Fire and Rescue district in 2003.
Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident on Shoreview Rd

South Lane County Fire and Rescue responded to a motor vehicle accident at mile post two on Shoreview , Cottage Grove. Vehicles involved were a motorcycle and a small pick up. Upon arrival the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead by South Lane County Paramedics. The male driver of the pickup and his female passenger both received non life threating injuries and were transported to River Bend Medical Center in Springfield. The Fire District responded with two emergency apparatus, and five personnel. The Lane County Sheriffs Office, and the Oregon State Police are investigating the accident. South Lane County Fire and Rescue provides Fire and EMS protection to the communities of Cottage Grove, Creswell and 132 square miles of unincorporated Southern Lane County.
