We have been receiving several calls today for the smoke visible in our part of the valley. This smoke originates from the Deception Creek fire currently being contained in the Oakridge area.

While responding to a fire in Creswell on August 12, 2014 around 5:10 pm a section of brand new 5 inch yellow fire hose became dislodged. Our fire engine had to stop along the freeway and remove the section so it did not fly off the truck and create a hazard while on the freeway. The 100' section of hose was left along the side of I-5 Northbound just before exit 176 to Saginaw.
We sent a crew to retrieve the section of hose 15-20 minutes later and somebody had already stopped and picked it up. Each section of hose is a considerable expense. We would appreciate any information regarding the location of the hose. If you have any information please call our office at 541-942-4493.
Another hot summer is upon us!
Just as a reminder, please keep the vegetation around your homes trimmed and maintained according to local city and county ordinances. Please be mindful of spark or open flame.
